Protect your device, keep your backup passwords safe, and maintain an exported backup when you need one. There is no developer-operated password recovery service.
1. About these terms
These terms describe use of Unlinked Vault, an offline password manager for iPhone and iPad.
Apple’s applicable App Store terms and the license terms shown with your download also apply. These terms do not replace rights or protections that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
2. Using the app
Use the app lawfully and only for information you are authorized to store. You are responsible for the records you enter and for maintaining access to your device. The app offers local password storage, categories, search, random password generation, a recycle bin, and encrypted backup import and export.
No online account is required. The app is not an online identity service, cloud synchronization service, or emergency recovery service.
3. Device access and PINs
A master PIN is optional and can be enabled in Settings. Without one, a person who can access the unlocked app may be able to read its contents. Keep your device passcode private and use available device security protections.
Master PINs and backup passwords use six digits. A short numeric code has limitations; protect both your device and any exported files. Encryption does not remove every risk of loss or unauthorized access.
The developer does not have a copy of your vault and cannot recover a forgotten master PIN, recover an exported backup’s password, or unlock an encrypted backup for you.
4. Backups and data loss
You are responsible for creating backups you need and keeping their passwords available to you. Store backup files securely and verify you can import them before relying on them as your only copy. Exported backups do not include records in the recycle bin.
Changing the app’s master PIN does not update previously exported files. Removing the app, losing access to your device, forgetting a required password, or permanently deleting records can make data unrecoverable. The local vault is excluded from automatic system backups.
Files saved or shared through a service you choose are subject to that service’s terms. The app cannot remove those external copies for you.
5. Responsible use
Do not use the app to store or distribute unlawfully obtained credentials, infringe another person’s rights, or conduct unlawful activity. Do not interfere with the app’s operation or security. Any restrictions are subject to rights that applicable law gives you.
6. Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains local storage, clipboard behavior, exported files, deletion, and this website. Read it alongside these terms.
7. Availability and updates
Features and supported operating systems may change as the app is maintained. App Store availability and delivery of updates are controlled in part by Apple. Keep an exported backup before device migrations or other changes that could affect your records.
The app cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free behavior, or protection against every security threat. Any applicable statutory guarantees and remedies remain in force.
8. Your legal rights
Nothing in these terms excludes liability or limits remedies where doing so would be unlawful. Any dispute is subject to applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections and any applicable license terms.

Updates to these terms will appear on this page with an updated date.
